On Thursday June 9, 2005, 100 years since the founding of Charlton Athletic Football Club, a group of Charlton fans announced their intention to form a football trust to act independently to secure the long term future of Charlton Athletic as a club for the fans and part of its local community. In the current climate of money buys all, domination of fixture lists by TV companies and PLC buyouts by unknown investors we seek to ensure Charlton Athletic holds true to the ideals that brought the club back from exile to The Valley in 1992.
To this end, we are working with the Government initiative Supporters Direct to setup CAIST. We will be holding a meeting for those interested in working towards the creation of the trust on the evening of Thursday April 6. If you are interested in attending please get in touch with us.
